about
I’m Kate, an Integrated Holistic Health Practitioner, combining bodywork with
psychological therapy approaches to provide whole body and mind health and
wellbeing.

I founded Holistic Health in 2017 after working as a therapist in NHS acute
mental health services in Cornwall for 15 years. I went on to run my
private practice alongside leading a specialist mental health and wellbeing
service for a national charity organisation for drug and alcohol rehabilitation
for 4 years. Currently I work 3 days in my Holistic health Therapy Studio in
Beacon, as well as 2 days a week as a Suicide and Self-harm
Prevention Educator for the NHS.
As a working mum of two boys, I understand the difficulty of trying to
juggle work and family. Life is so fast-paced these days, it can often
feel overwhelming and as a result it is all too easy to forget to take a
breath and focus on your own needs. However it is absolutely
essential to work on your own wellbeing in order to prevent burnout or other physical or mental health conditions developing.

Over the years, I have come to realise that one of the most important aspects for any therapeutic intervention is a meaningful connection between therapist and client. I am genuinely interested in people and their wellbeing; and provide advice, guidance and support with empathy and a non-judgemental attitude.
Everybody is unique with individual physical and emotional needs and therefore no two sessions I provide are ever the same.
They are tailor-made to fit the people I am working with in order for clients to get the benefits they specifically need.
Why choose Holistic Health…
I have been a qualified, registered and insured Holistic Health Practitioner for over 25 years, specialising in stress management and trauma for the past 15 years. I provide a range of holistic therapies, including therapeutic massage, Indian head massage, reflexology, and I am also a trained MTAT ear acupuncturist to provide ear acupuncture for stress and anxiety.
Working in acute mental health services, I have helped people with a range of physical and mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression, PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder) and complex emotional difficulties. In 2009 I trained as a Dialectical Behavioral Therapist, as I am particularly passionate about helping people who have difficulty regulating emotions, including those who use self-harm as coping mechanisms and experience suicidal thoughts.
I am considered an integrated Trauma Therapist as I am a certified EMDR practitioner (Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing) and can incorporate trauma informed bodywork into sessions that require it. I receive regular clinical supervision from the EMDR Centre London. I am also a trained EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) Therapist, which can be used alongside or instead of EMDR. I am also trained in Therapeutic Yoga, which alongside the bodywork and somatic work I do, means I can weave appropriate strategies and techniques into sessions as necessary for my clients.

I created The B:EACH® Programme (Balance: Emotions Acceptance Change=Health) which integrates all my clinical experience and training and which I use in one-to-one stress management sessions as well as facilitating face to face and online workshops for individuals and organisations. I have provided several B:EACH® workshops and courses over the years to students and staff at Falmouth University to support stress management and emotional regulation.
